Bristow acquires rights for Country Girl, President
Julie Bristow’s content company has acquired rights to a pair of factual series sold by Small World IFT.
Bristow Global Media, which the former CBC programming boss launched earlier this year, has acquired Canadian format rights to Media Factory’s Miss Country Girl and North American rights to Letters to the President.
Miss Country Girl is a one-hour series that “searches for all facets of beauty”. It has run for a number of seasons in Romania, Ukraine and Thailand and been optioned in 11 other territories.
Letters to the President is billed as a “one-hour wish fulfillment series in which real letters to the President from Americans seeking help with problems affecting themselves and their community are answered”.
“Miss Country Girl is an extraordinary series that pushes social norms and sparks national conversation around true beauty,” said Bristow, president and CEO, BGM. “Letters to The President is a powerful format, with social and political relevance, that will give a never-before-seen glimpse into the White House.”
