News brief: Bat Pat takes off with RAI, TVE

European pubcasters RAI and TVE have come on board Spanish-Italian-Malaysian coproduction Bat Pat.

Following investment from the GD Animation Fund, Italy’s RAI and Spain’s TVE, the 52x11mins kids series is going into production. Spain’s Imira Entertainment is coproducing the show with Italy’s Atlantyca Entertainment and Malaysia’s Inspidea.

The series is based on a book series of the same name and is billed as a “spooky animated adventure-comedy that proves the supernatural isn’t always evil – just misunderstood”.
