Syfy developing Brad Pitt movie remake
NBCUniversal-owned Syfy has greenlit a cast-contingent drama pilot based on 1995 science fiction feature films 12 Monkeys.
The 1x60mins pilot will be produced by Universal Cable Productions and Atlas Entertainment, the latter of which was behind the original movie.
12 Monkeys followed Bruce Willis as a time traveler that appeared in the present day to stop a deadly plague from eradicating humanity in the 21st century. The film also starred Brad Pitt as a fanatical animal rights activist suspected of releasing the virus.
Production will begin in November with Terry Matals and Travis Fickett, who wrote the pilot, executive producing alongside Atlas’s Charles Roven, who worked on the original, and Richard Suckle.
