FremantleMedia inks ProSieben, RTL and raft of German deals
FremantleMedia International has announced a slew of sales to German broadcasters.
The distributor has inked a deal with Gemany’s largest commercial broadcaster ProSiebenSat.1 for titles including Jamie Cooks Summer, Half the Sky: Turning Oppression into Opportunity for Women Worldwide and Lisa Kudrow web series Web Therapy (pictured).
The shows will air on female-skewing digital channel Sixx and the Maxdome on-demand service.
FMI has also concluded a several deals with ProSieben’s chief rival RTL.
Kids channel Super RTL, which is on an aggressive buying push as it seeks to replace content being lost to the soon-to-launch German Disney Channel, has bought season five of Merlin. RTL digital channel RTL Crime, meanwhile, has picked up drama series Hit and Miss.
In the pay TV space, A+E’s Bio channel has acquired Project Runway and Project Runway All Stars.
Factual and fact-ent programme sales include Oliver Stone’s The Untold History of the United States being sold to Spiegel Geschichte and N-TV; the latter has also bought the special Meteor Strike: Fireball from Space. Discovery’s DMAX has also acquired Auction Hunters and 1000 Ways to Die.
