News brief: ABC books in Gogglebox pilot

US broadcast network ABC has commissioned a pilot for a variety competition show in which successful acts are signed up on the spot to perform in top venues across the US.

You’re Booked is a format from Sony-owned Gogglebox Entertainment that will be produced by 310 Entertainment and Sony Pictures Television at the latter’s US studio.

It will see eclectic acts perform in front of bookers from The Roxy, MGM Resorts, AEG and Caesars Palace in a bid to win a performing spot. Should the pilot go to series, each episode will have a standalone weekly winner.
