Arrow Media commissioned for new Hairy Bikers series
UK indie Arrow Media has been commissioned by BBC Two to make a new factual series featuring popular hosts Si King and Dave Myers, better known as the Hairy Bikers.
Previously best known for their cooking series, Rebuilding Industrial Britain (WT) will be a 3x60mins series in which the hosts will travel the UK on vintage motorbikes rediscovering and helping to fix a number lost treasures of the industrial age. Each episode will cover different themes within the industrial revolution; agriculture, transport and industry.
The show will be the first presenter-led offering from Arrow, the prodco established by several ex-Darlow Smithson execs.
Tom Brisley, company creative director, said: “Arrow wants to do smart new things with well-known talent. In Rebuilding Industrial Britain we have done just that – bringing a different side of Dave and Si’s passion, interests and past to the BBC audience.”
The show will go out this autumn. The international distributor of the show has not yet been confirmed.
