Exclusive: Davina McCall to host new Channel 4 gameshow from Sony
UK commercial broadcaster Channel 4 has commissioned a new gameshow from Sony, Five Minutes to a Fortune, TBI has learned.
The new daytime show will be fronted by Million Pound Drop and ex-Big Brother host Davina McCall.
It will be made by Victory, the UK production company owned by Sony Pictures Television.
Victory is currently preparing production of the hour-long show in which pairs of contestants take on challenges against the clock.
The participants start out with an amount of money and, as en egg timer runs down, see that pot dwindle the longer they take to complete a given task.
SPT distributes several big gameshow properties including Who Wants to be a Millionaire is understood to be taking international rights to the show and the format.
Victory is the production business that Sony set up as a joint venture with Victoria Ashbourne in mid-2011.
TBI contacted Channel 4 and SPT and both refused to comment.
