All3 Media snags Foyle’s War rights

All3Media International has snagged the international rights to hit detective series Foyle’s War from Icon Film Distribution after striking a deal with Acorn Media.

This comes nearly two years after DVD firm Acorn Media acquired the TV rights to a raft of British drama series from bankrupt independent producer Greenlit Rights.

The production company, run by Jill Green, went into administration in 2010. However, Green worked with Acorn media and writer and creator Anthony Horowitz to develop new episodes of the ITV series through her new production company Eleventh Hour Films.

The new eps will launch on ITV1 and US network PBS in 2013.

All3Media will shop three new two hour episodes to international broadcasters as well as the 22x2hour library.
