Crime & Investigation orders new UK commission
British pay TV broadcaster Crime & Investigation Network has commissioned a new factual series and renewed Crimes That Shook Britain.
The network, which is a joint venture between A+E Networks and BSkyB, has ordered 8x1hour crime series A Town and Country Murder.
The show, which is produced by Avalon’s Flame Television, explores some of the darkest murder stories in British history. It will be known as A Very British Murder internationally, where it will be distributed by A+E Networks.
Separately, the broadcaster has ordered a fourth season of Crimes That Shook Britain, its most successful channel. The six part series is produced by Manchester indie Title Role.
Both shows will launch next year.
Koulla Anastasi, head of acquisitions and commissioning, Crime & Investigation Network and Bio at A+E Networks UK said: “I am delighted to announce the commission of the brand new series A Town and Country Murder and the return of the acclaimed series Crimes That Shook Britain. Both programmes offer viewers an informative and detailed insight into some of the most harrowing murders to have taken place in the UK. Both series expose the dark side of Britain’s criminal landscape and the far-reaching and profound impact these have on the population.”
