Int’l nets remaking Shopping Monsters
A raft of Central and Eastern European broadcasters are remaking Global Agency’s Shopping Monsters after striking format deals with the Turkish distributor.
CTC is remaking the format in Russia, Kazakhstan, Moldova and Belarus, while Ukrainian broadcaster K1 and Bulgarian network TV7 are also launching local versions.
These deals were closed following the NATPE Budapest event last month.
This comes after the format has already been remade in the Netherlands on RTL4 and in Germany via Vox. It originally aired in Turkey via Kanal D.
The show, which is produced by Erdi Productions, is a shopping makeover format that sees five women compete to win the ultimate spending spree.
Izzet Pinto, CEO of Global Agency, said: “Shopping Monsters is the ultimate flexible format, and plays in either access or primetime, on terrestrial or digital. By the end of September it will have been seen by viewers in nine countries, and as its momentum builds, I’m sure this is just the beginning for this fantastic format.”
