TruTV orders Hardcore Pawn spin-off, Fort Bragg

TruTV has ordered a spin-off of reality series Hardcore Pawn and more episodes of the original pawn business show.

The Turner-owned US cable channel has greenlit Hardcore Pawn: Fort Bragg, which will focus on the pawning of weapons and military equipment at the Guns Plus store, which is located next to the Fort Bragg military base in North Carolina and is staffed by military veterans.

The seven episode series will be produced by Zodiak USA and bow on TruTV later this year. Zodiak’s Grant Mansfield and Natalka Znak are among the exec producers.

“We have had such tremendous success with Hardcore Pawn, it makes sense to expand the concept into a franchise with Hardcore Pawn: Fort Bragg,” said Marc Juris, executive vice president and chief operating officer of truTV. “The new Hardcore Pawn: Fort Bragg also gives us the opportunity to introduce viewers to some of the incredible men and women who serve in the military and whose stories will play an important part in the show.”

The US cable net has also ordered a sixth season of the main Hardcore Pawn series and like Fort Bragg, it will air later this year. The current fifth season has averaged 2.9 million viewers in its Tuesday 9pm slot.

Separately, TruTV has ordered another 13 episodes of Lizard Lick Towing, the Zodiak-produced reality series about a vehicle repossession company.

Zodiak’s distribution arm, Zodiak Rights, has international format and finished tape rights to all three shows.
