US Cable Upfronts 2011: Speed orders ITV-produced car series

US cable network Speed has ordered 13-part motoring series My Ride Rules after striking a deal with ITV Studios America.

The Fox-owned network, which is the home of Nascar racing, will launch the series later this year.

This is the latest US order for the international arm of the British commercial broadcaster, following NBC’s pick up of the remake of Prime Suspect and Fox’s order of factual entertainment series Buried Treasure.

My Ride Rules, which is exec produced by Mark Roberts and Lorena David Esguerra, takes four motoring enthusiasts and they compete to see who has the best ride.

The deal was struck between Robert Ecker, programming VP, Speed, and ITV Studios America chief executive Paul Buccieri.
