Former Five boss Woolfe resurfaces
Former Five controller Richard Woolfe has resurfaced at UK post-production house and indie producer Prime Focus Productions.
This follows his departure from the UK commercial broadcaster last year after it was acquired by Richard Desmond.
Woolfe will become creative director at the company as it looks to expand its production business. It is currently developing Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman’s Good Omens for STV and a series fronted by David Jason written by Diamond Geezer writer Caleb Ranson. It is also working on a number of other projects for international broadcasters.
Before Five, Woolfe was director of programmes for Sky 1, 2 & 3 and channel controller of Living TV.
Prime Focus, which is run Simon Briggs in the UK, began as a post-production firm in India, before acquiring a number of British firms in 2006. The company launched Prime Focus Productions in March 2011, headed by Ex-Mob Film Company partner and executive producer Rod Brown, who has exec produced series including Sky 1’s Hogfather.
Joining Woolfe is former Tiger Aspect Productions commercial manager Lynn Lugsden, who will become commercial director.
