LA Screenings 2011: NBC announces slate
US network NBC has officially announced its new slate of programming for the 2011/12 season.
The broadcaster has picked up series including Chelsea Handler-comedy Are You There, Vodka? It’s Me, Chelsea, British remake Free Agents and sitcoms Up All Night, Best Friends Forever and Bent.
This comes a couple of days after it picked up Steven Spielberg’s Smash, Prime Suspect, The Playboy Club, Awake, Whitney, The Firm and Grimm.
Are You There, Vodka? It’s Me, Chelsea, which is based on Chelsea Handler’s book Chelsea Lately, is produced by Warner Bros Television in association with Werner Entertainment and Borderline Amazing Productions and stars That 70s Show’s Laura Prepon.
Free Agents is a remake of the British comedy that was originally produced by Big Talk for Channel. It stars Hank Azaria and Hung’s Kathryn Hahn as two PR execs on the rebound. It is produced by Universal Media Studios in association with Dark Toy.
Up All Night, which is produced by Universal Media Studios and Lorne Michaels’ Broadway Video, was created by Parks and Recreation’s Emily Spivey and stars Christina Applegate.
Bent, which is produced by Universal Media Studios, is a romantic comedy starring Amanda Peet and Perfect Couples’ David Walton.
Best Friends Forever, which is produced by Universal Media Studios, is a single camera sitcom starring In The Motherhood’s Jessica St. Clair.
