Chello launches new kids channel

Chello Central Europe is launching a new kids channel in Hungary.

The Liberty Global-owned channel operator is launching boy skewing channel Megamax later this month and will air series including Transformers, Battle Force, Twisted Whiskers, Dex Hamilton, Iron Kid and Metajets.

The channel, which is aimed to target kids aged 7-14, is a sister channel to Minimax, which airs series including Geronimo Stilton, The Secret World of Benjamin Bear, Bindi the Jungle Girl and Thomas and Friends in Hungary, Romania, Slovakia, Serbia and Poland.

Megamax will initially only launch in Hungary but further launches across Chello Central Europe’s footprint are expected.

“The channel will benefit from the strong DNA of its sister channel Minimax, which is already the leading kids channel in the region. We are hoping Megamax will soon become a strong home for an active and engaged audience,” said Levante Malnay, CEO, Chello Central Europe.
