Wife Swap to be remade in India, Russia

Spouse trading format Wife Swap is to be remade in India and Russia after distributor Zodiak Rights closed a number of format deals.

Sony-owned Indian broadcaster SET and Russia’s CTC Network are to produce local versions of the entertainment format.

SET has ordered 26 episodes of the series to be produced by local production company UTV, while CTC will produce at least 10 episodes of the hour long format to be broadcast in the next three months.

This follows local remakes in Ukraine, Spain, Israel and Romania.

Zodiak Rights head of sales Anne-Marie Pardoe said: “It’s very exciting that this format will now be available to viewers in India and Russia for the first time. Wife Swap is one of the Zodiak Rights’ most successful formats and continues to draw in viewers wherever it airs in the world and I am sure that Russia and India will be no exception.”
