Zodiak shops US Being Human to Sony nets
Distributor Zodiak Rights has sold the US version of supernatural drama series Being Human to several of Sony Pictures Entertainment’s cable nets – and various other broadcasters.
The series debuts on NBC Universal-owned US cable net SyFy tonight. The North American version is produced by Canada’s Muse Entertainment. Based on the UK series of the same name, it follows three roommates who happen to be a vampire, ghost and werewolf.
Sony’s SPE Networks has acquired the US series Asia and for its action-adventure AXN channel in Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Recently-launched AXN Sci Fi in Italy will also have the show.
Tele Munchen has taken all German-speaking rights to the series and DBS and Media Vera have picked up Israeli and Turkish rights respectively.
Meanwhile, distributor Entertainment One has acquired US digital and home video rights for the show.
