A&E poaches BSkyB exec for strategy role

The international arm of cable channel operator A&E has poached Liz Higgins from BSkyB for a Europe-focused strategy role.

Higgins will be director, strategy and business development, Europe at AETN International. She was business development manager at News Corp-backed UK pay TV platform Sky, with a focus on its news channel Sky News.

In her new role Higgins will handle AETN’s growth strategy and investment activities across channels and digital distribution. She will start in the new position in January and report to Dean Possenniskie, AETN’s managing director, Europe.

“Liz joins AETN with an impressive track record of building successful international channel and business operations management,” Possenniskie said. “We are delighted to have her join our team during an important phase of international growth.”
