MTV orders teen pregnancy series from September Films
MTV has commissioned Baby High, a one-off documentary special about teen pregnancy from UK indie producer September Films.
The US cable net will air the show alongside an episode from the second season of its popular 16 and Pregnant series this summer.
The one-off film will look at the real lives of pregnant teens and teen mums.
Sheldon Lazarus, executive producer for September Films, said: “Baby High is not intended to legitimize teen pregnancy in any way; but rather will show how one community has come together to address the issue of teen pregnancy by offering a second chance to teens who otherwise might sacrifice their education entirely.”
DCD Media-owned September Films is already producing three series for US cable: Mall Cops: mall of America for TLC; Billy the Exterminator for A&E; and Bridezillas for WEtv.
The show was commissioned by commissioned by Lauren Dolgen, senior VP, series development, MTV Networks.
