Sky Italia gets new programming boss
Italy’s leading pay TV platform Sky Italia has appointed Andrea Scrosati to a newly created role overseeing its original programming slate and flagship entertainment channel Sky Uno.
As vice president of programming and promotions Scrosati will oversee orginal programming as well as head up acquisitions for Sky’s seven-strong bouquet of movie channels.
Scrosati worked as a consultant on the launch of the News Corp-backed Sky platform in 2003, following the merger of Stream and Telepiu. He went in-house in 2006 when he became vice president, corporate and market communications.
As well as handling original programming and acquisitions, the Sky exec will also retain responsibility for all of the company’s communications, PR and events.
“Andrea has been with us right from the very earliest days of Sky Italia,” said CEO Tom Mockridge. “As a result he has developed a deep knowledge of our business here in Italy and of the wider News Corporation group that combines neatly with his unrivalled experience working with the very best creative talents in Italy.”
