FremantleMedia buys FourOne

FremantleMedia has acquired Dutch producer FourOne Media.

The producer specialises in scripted programming and makes S1ngle, which airs daily on Net5 as well as MTV shows Helmets and Scoots.

Company founder Willem Zijlstra will continue to run FourOne and, as managing director, will also manage FremantleMedia’s other Dutch production offshoot Blue Circle.

He reports to Monica Galer, FremantleMedia’s head of Northern and Southern Europe. She said: “FremantleMedia’s acquisition of FourOne enhances Blue Circle’s position in the market by moving us into new areas of production as we pick-up a fantastic catalogue of fiction and drama.”

FremantleMedia Tony Cohen said that he is very optimistic about prospects for the year. “We go into 2010 very optimistically. Recomission rates are outstanding and there are big things to look forward to.”
