Rotana inks Disney output deal
Middle Eastern pay broadcaster Rotana Media Group has inked a multi-million dollar output deal with the international distribution arm of Walt Disney.
Rotana and Fox International Channels, which operate a number of entertainment and movie channels across the region have struck the deal, worth around DIR100 million (US$27 million) with Disney ABC ESPN Television.
The deal means that the network will air series including FlashForward, Lost, Cougar Town, Ugly Betty and Lost as well as movies including Pirates of the Caribbean, The Chronicles of Narnia and Wall-E.
Rotana, which is run by Saudi Prince AL Waleed Bin Talal Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, launched Fox Series and Fox Movies in the region last year.
