Lorber joins HBO CE

HBO’s Central Europe division, HBO CE, has appointed Marc Lorber senior VP, original programming and production and executive producer.

HBO CE is embarking on a local production push and is currently starting to make local versions of HBO US’s hit drama series In Treatment. HBO CE’s country manager for Poland, Aleksander Kutela, had been overseeing the introduction of the local versions, but Lorber comes takes up the newly created position with a remit focused solely on programming.

Lorber joins from LA-based producer and distributor Marvista and will work out of HBO CE’s Budapest headquarters, reporting to CEO Linda Jensen. Prior to Marvista he was head of format sales and production at Disney and has also worked for Fox, Sony and Viasat.

Jensen said: “Marc’s appointment comes at a time when the demand for original production in our region is growing rapidly. He brings a wealth of experience as a successful producer in the US and many of our territories, and his experience in these diverse markets will support our continuing investment in original programming for eastern and central Europe.”
