Pilgrim eyes gameshows in Cannes
The Ultimate Fighter producer Pilgrim Films and Television is heading to MIPCOM on the search for two gameshow formats to acquire and reversion for the United States.
Craig Piligian, president and chief executive of the company, which also produces the Ghost Hunter franchise, is looking to partner with international producers and distributors on formats that can be reversioned for US broadcasters and cable networks.
“I’m looking for two formats to acquire, talking to independent producers that have formats that have been successful elsewhere in the world so that I can bring them to the States,” he says. “I think it’s going to be a healthy MIPCOM.”
This follows the company’s coproduction with UK indie Monkey – Man Vs Cartoon – which aired on TruTV.
Pilgrim has just produced the tenth season of The Ultimate Fighter for Spike and will be talking to international broadcasters at the market interested in launching local versions of the event. “We’re always seeing if there are any other countries interested in taking the format,” he adds.
