Torrance joining BBC worldwide

Caroline Torrance is joining BBC Worldwide.

It was announced she was leaving the position of head of scripted programming at Endemol in June and she has now taken on the role of director of investment at the commercial arm of the BBC.

Torrance will head up Worldwide’s content buying team and will manage the relationship with the BBC’s in -house production unit, BBC Vision. Previous director of investment Matt Forde has been promoted to executive VP, sales, distribution and copros, based in Worldwide’s New York office.

The BBC said that Torrance will ensure “the commercial viability of all BBC Worldwide programme investments and securing international co production partners for in-house BBC productions”.

She will be part of the Content and Production senior management team, reporting to that division’s director, Wayne Garvie.

Prior to Endemol, Torrance was at ITV’s distribution arm. She starts in her new role next month.
