Pocoyo producer to float next week

Zinkia, the Spanish producer and distributor behind global hit kids series Pocoyo, will join Spain’s alternative stock market the Mercado Alternativo Bursatil (MAB) next week. It will become the first company in the Growth Companies sector of the MAB.

The company hopes to raise about €20 million (US$28 million) from the listing.

Zinkia president José María Castillejo said: “Zinkia has mapped out a solid strategy for the future and by floating on the stock market, the company will be able to greenlight new projects as well as strengthen existing properties and projects, which in turn will boost the value of the company.”

Pocoyo is Zinkia’s most successful property and the company is preparing to launch a virtual world for kids based on the preschool series. Mundo Pocoyo will launch in English and Spanish later this year.
