Gurin Company inks First & Last format deals

Production and distribution company The Gurin Company has sealed format deals across the world for entertainment series First & Last.

The deals see Australian broadcaster Channel Nine as well as production companies from New Zealand, Greece, the Netherlands and Belgium buy the format for the show, which was originally produced for US-based channel TNT.

The hour-long programme follows people doing something for the first or last time such as a doctor performing their first surgery. It has also attracted interest from other broadcasters and The Gurin Company, creator of the Singing Bee format, said it expects to announce more format deals shortly.

Company founder Phil Gurin said “The fact that First & Last is resonating in so many different countries and for such a variety of cultures underscores the value of creating world-centric content.”
