Colours to produce Indian version of Talent
Indian broadcaster Colours is set to produce a local version of hit international format Got Talent, the first time the format will be produced in Asia.
Colours, which is one of India’s leading Hindi general entertainment channels and is operated by Viacom18, a joint venture between Network18 and MTV owner Viacom, struck the deal for the talent competition with distributor FremantleMedia.
The move will ramp up competition in the country with Colours, Star and Sony-owned SET all battling for the number one spot. SET recently commissioned a local version of ITV Studios format I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here.
India’s Got Talent will be launched later this year and the panel of judges will includes film director Shekhar Kapur, actress Sonali Bendre and Bollywood star Kirron Kher.
