BBCWW’s Forde heads to US to drive copro and sales activity
BBC Worldwide is ramping up efforts to drive sales and coproduction activity in the US and has appointed Matt Forde to the new role of executive VP sales and copros.
Forde will relocate from London – where he is BBCWW’s director of acquisitions – to New York and is tasked with driving copro and sales activity across all genres in the US and Latin America.
He will report to Steve Macallister, MD BBC Worldwide Sales & Distribution and Garth Ancier, President BBC Worldwide, America.
Macallister said: “Matt’s unique combination of sales experience, sharp business skills and encyclopaedic knowledge of the BBC make him the ideal candidate for this key role and helps us to further support building the BBC in the US.”
Worldwide has also created another new role, senior VP children’s and children’s business development. The role is being filled by Susanna Pollack, who was previously BBCWW’s US-based senior VP of TV sales, coproductions and children’s.
