BBC and HBO order more Little Britain USA
US cable network HBO and British public broadcaster BBC have recommissioned comedy series Little Britain USA for a second season.
The 6x30mins series has been recommissioned following decent ratings both in the US and UK. The first episode attracted 4.7 million viewers in the UK and 540,000 viewers in the US.
This US version of the comedy series received mixed revews from US critics.
The show is produced by Simon Fuller’s 19 Entertainment and Morra Brezner Steinberg and Tenebaum Entertainment (MBST), both companies that are owned by publicly floated entertainment outfit CKX, which also owns the rights to the Elvis Presley and Muhammad Ali brands.
The rights to Little Britain USA as well as characters from the original British series were recently picked up by PPC Enterprises, a subsidiary of film marketing agency Picture Production Company.
The show also airs internationally on Canada’s Movie Network and New Zealand’s TV2.
