Providence buys into Hulu

Private equity investor Providence Equity Partners has acquired a stake in News Corp and NBC Universal’s video site, Hulu. The deal gives Providence a 10% stake for $100 million.

Details of the online video site have not been revealed, but News Corp and NBC Universal hope that it will allow them to compete against the Google-owned Youtube.com.
