Fremantle brings back Crackerjack

Fremantle Australia is to relaunch the Crackerjack brand, twelve months after the producer was merged with Grundy. Australian public broadcaster SBS has commissioned Newstopia, a Daily Show with John Stewart meets Brass Eye style spoof, which will be the first offering from the relaunched Crackerjack.

Mark Fennessy, CEO of Fremantle Australia and former Crackerjack boss, says: "Crackerjack is to be relaunched purely as a comedy brand. It was born in the comedy world like TalkbackThames or Baby Cow, and is very much an area that tracks our history and we felt it’s such a specialised brand."
