Homeland and 24 producer Howard Gordon is working up a remake of BBC heist drama Inside Men in the US.
US network Fox’s cable production division Fox 21 is working with LA-based BBC Worldwide Productions and Gordon’s Teakwood Lane Productions on the adaptation. Gordon will helm the project alongside Richard Price (The Wire).
The BBC One drama tells the story of three security deposit box guards that plan a multi-million pound heist.
Tony Basgallop (Hotel Babylon), who created the original, will work up the new script. The 2012 in-house BBC effort was a four-parter, but Fox 21 plans for it to be a multi-part and long-running series.
A pilot will be pitched to US cable networks later this year.
Producer Gordon is also behind Tyrant, the FX drama that launched Stateside in June.
