Discovery’s Korn resurfaces at UK producer
Dan Korn has become creative director of Scotland’s STV Productions after recently leaving Discovery Networks International.
Korn (pictured) will focus on specialist factual and returnable programming at STV Productions, which is the programming production arm of Scottish broadcaster STV.
He recently left his post as head of special projects at DNI, having previously been head of programming at DNI UK and Western Europe.
At London Stock Exchange-listed STV, he will be based in London and report to STV Productions’s director of content, Alan Clements. He will take up the new post in August.
“I’m very excited to be embarking on this new challenge which will give me the opportunity to develop and produce different factual strands of STV Productions’ work,” said Korn. “I loved working for Discovery but the time has come for a new challenge and I’m looking forward to the next chapter of my career.”
At DNI, Korn was behind programming such as Salvage Hunters, The James Cracknell Unstoppable Trilogy and Walking The Amazon with Ed Stafford.
He also oversaw specials such as Tony Robinson’s World War I for Discovery UK and Sky 3D and docs such as Churchill and Me with Hugh Dennis.
He had joined Discovery in 2005 from 3BM Television.
