Tinopolis poaches Sky entertainment exec
Wales-based Tinopolis Group has hired Sky commissioning editor Chris Brogden as part of a push into entertainment formats.
He will become the production and distribution group’s first creative director, entertainment.
The post will see Brogden (pictured) working with Tinopolis’s 17 prodcos, which are based either in the UK and US. He will report to Tinopolis CEO Arwel Rees and creative director John Willis.
The hire comes after a spate of acquisitions at Tinopolis that saw the likes of A Smith and Co. (Hell’s Kitchen), Magical Elves (Top Chef), Firecracker Films (My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding), Base Productions (Fact or Faked: Paranormal Files) and distributor Passion Distribution added the ranks.
“Our companies are internationally renowned for producing and distributing world-class content and Chris will be instrumental in working with them to guide the expansion of our entertainment catalogue,” said Rees.
While at UK paycaster Sky, Brogden commissioned shows such as Wild Things, Quiz Nights and Relatively Clever. He also worked at UK broadcaster ITV, where he executive produced shows including I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!.
“There is enormous entertainment potential across the Tinopolis Group, and Chris is the ideal person to unlock that creative potential here in the UK and in the USA,” said Willis.
