A+E ups Heather Jones
Channel operator A+E Networks UK has promoted Heather Jones to general manager.
In her new role she will oversee the UK portfolio of channels, which includes History, Lifetime, Crime + Investigation and H2.
Jones is being upped from vice president, programming, the tile she took when she joined A+E in mid-2013. The new role is effective from start-February.
Prior to A+E, Jones was at All3Media prodco North One and before that at MTV UK.
She said this morning: “I love each of the channels in our UK portfolio and I can’t wait to get stuck into the new challenges that this broader remit will bring.”
Jones will continue to report to Tom Davidson, managing director of A+E Networks UK. He said: “With her in-depth knowledge of the TV landscape, combined with a vision and passion for great entertainment, Heather is the perfect candidate to drive the UK business to deliver its full potential.”
The news follows Rachel Job’s promotion to director of programming at the History channel in November. Job reports into Jones.
