Will Arnett launching prodco, snags CBS deal
Will Arnett is launching his own production company and has struck a first-look deal with CBS Studios.
The Hollywood Reporter broke the news that the Canadian Arrested Development and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles star is launching Electric Avenue.
The new firm is close to a deal to option How Not to Calm a Child on a Plane: And Other Lessons in Parenting From a Highly Questionable Source, the collection of autobiographical essays from TV actress, producer and writer Johanna Stein.
CBS TV Studios, which makes Arnett’s Thursday night CBS sitcom The Millers (pictured) will have first-look at Electric Avenue projects. Former Brillstein Grey exec Jed Weitzman will run the prodco.
Meanwhile, Arnett looks set to reprise his George Oscar Bluth II role in a new season of Arrested Development with Netflix, with the cast of the show indicating a sixth season is in the works.
