Eccho’s Exit travels across Europe
A raft of European versions of Japanese gameshow Exit are to be produced after Eccho Rights struck a number of option deals.
The gameshow, which originally launched in Nippon Television in Japan, has been optioned by All3Media-owned German production company MME Entertainment, French production company Elephant Group, Channel Peretz in Russia and OWT in Sweden.
The deals are the first struck by Eccho Rights, the new distribution arm of Sparks Network, that launched at MIPCOM.
Exit sees teams of contestants compete a series of room-escape challenges and each stage takes place in a locked room with mind bending and physically challenging traps. The teams must answer quizzes and puzzles to escape before time runs out.
Sparks Eccho also hopes to launch a production hub for the gameshow in 2013 that will enable producers to share investment in the studio set.
