Disney makes trip to Daniel Tiger’s Neighbourhood

Disney Channel in Russia and the Latin American and Southeast Asian feeds of stable mate Disney Junior have acquired animated preschool series Daniel Tiger’s Neighbourhood.

The 40x22mins series, which debuted on PBS Kids in the US and CBC in Canada and is sold internationally by 9 Story Entertainment, will launch on the Mouse House channels at an unspecified later date.

The show has already been licensed to the likes of ABC in Australia, France Televisions, Super RTL in Germany and Minika in Turkey.

It is coproduced by 9 Story and The Fred Rogers Company and aimed at developing core skills ahead of preschoolers’ formal education. The plot follows a shy tiger that lives in a neighbourhood where he learns lessons to prepare him for life.
