Bold and Beautiful and on YouTube

The Bold and the Beautiful is getting its own channel on video-sharing site YouTube, which will allow fans to access full episodes and extras from the long-running US soap. The distributors of the show have also inked a raft of new TV deals.

“We have a partnership deal with YouTube for a branded Bold and the Beautiful channel,” explains Christine Waage, The Bold and the Beautiful’s VP, international sales. “It’s a useful sales tool, especially for the countries where we don’t have a TV deal.”

The show is distributed in numerous territories and new TV partners include Malaysian free-to-air broadcaster RTM and Egyptian public broadcaster ERT. It has also just gone back on air in Turkey, on Kanal Turk, having been off air in the country for over a decade. A dubbed Farsi-language version of the soap has also just launched in the Middle East.

In the US the half-hour series has been on CBS since 1987 when it was launched as a sister series to The Young and the Restless. It is produced in LA by Bell-Phillip Television Productions. The producers are currently weighing the feasibility of another location shoot, this time in South Africa.
