Satisfaction Iberia has hired former Mediacrest exec Bruno Pena Calvo to lead its production unit.

Pena was most recently production director at Mediacrest’s entertainment and docs division, having previously spent spells with Banijay Iberia.

He confirmed the news on LinkedIn and said he was looking forward to “great adventures” with Satisfaction Iberia’s co-founder and former Mediacrest exec, Daniel Domenjó.

Satisfaction Iberia was unveiled in November and recently hired David Llanes and Jordi Rosell as its first senior execs, with remits over content, international business and executive production.

Domenjó, who told TBI earlier this year that his company’s launch highlighted the surge in interest for Spanish content, co-founded Satisfaction Iberia last year with the backing of Arthur Essebag and his France-based group Satisfaction.

The nascent Iberian label sits alongside Satisfaction Group companies including Satisfaction, Ah! Production, La Grosse Équipe, Satisfy, Starling, Enibas Productions and Ellimac Productions.

Satisfaction Iberia is focused mainly on entertainment but also has projects in fiction and documentary genres. It is centred on creating, adapting and producing for networks and platforms in Spain, Portugal, Latin America and US Hispanic.
