Endemol Shine alum Wim Ponnet named EMEA president at OTT firm Quickplay

Endemol Shine Group’s former chief strategy and commercial officer Wim Ponnet has taken up a new role at OTT technology firm Quickplay.

Ponnett becomes president of its nascent EMEA division, which is aiming to capitalise on streaming requirements from pay-TV and telco companies.

He most recently founded investment firm FanTechCapital and before that spent seven years at Endemol Shine, which was acquired by Banijay in 2020. He left shortly after the takeover, as revealed by TBI.

Ponnet joined Endemol Shine in 2015 having been senior director of strategy & operations at Yahoo EMEA.

Paul Pastor, chief business officer and co-founder of Quickplay, said Ponnet would “spearhead a dedicated presence that will help us immediately to address a growing pipeline of inquiries from providers.”
