Brian Edwards, the co-head of MGM alternative television, is leaving the Amazon-owned company three months since he was promoted into the role.

Edwards was named as co-head of unscripted alongside Barry Poznick in the November 2022 restructure that placed Jennifer Salke in charge of Shark Tank studio. Prior to his promotion, Edwards served as president of TV operations at MGM and had previously been COO of United Artists Media Group.

Poznick will now head up the unscripted division on his own, reporting to Chris Brearton, VP of corporate strategy for Amazon’s Prime Video Studios, MGM+ and MGM Alternative.

Edwards’ departure follows the exit of MGM topper Mark Burnett who left in November just six months after Amazon acquired the company, which is also behind unscripted shows such as The Voice and Survivor, for $8.5bn.

News of Edwards’ exit was first reported by Deadline.
