Apple TV+ goes inside the ‘Monster Factory’ in wrestling docuseries

Still from ‘Monster Factory’ trailer

Apple TV+ has commissioned Monster Factory, a new docuseries about the coach and fighters at a New Jersey wrestling school.

Directed by Galen Summer and Naiti Gámez, produced by Vox Media Studios and Public Record, and debuting on 17 March, the six-part series follows the “misfit dreamers” at the school on the outskirts of a factory town who, with the help of their coach, fight for their big break as professional wrestlers.

The school is led by Danny Cage, the owner and the charismatic coach of the titular Monster Factory. A former wrestler himself, Cage needs to keep the veterans and the new recruits motivated if they want to survive the training, and the potential rejection that is to come in the business.

Max Heckman, Jeremiah Zagar, Galen Summer, Chad Mumm, Mark W. Olsen and Jeremy Yaches serve as executive producers, while Marina Stadler co-executive produced.

The series will join Apple’s expanding offering of unscripted sports programming, including Real Madrid: Until The End, Make Or Break and Super League.
