Little Birds producer Warp Films has appointed Emily Feller to the newly created role of chief creative officer.

Feller joins at the end of the month and will work alongside joint CEOs Mark Herbert and Peter Carlton. She will be focused on growing the company’s development slate of and building its brand internationally.

The exec has been brought on as part of the company’s plans to boost its creative talent pool after joining the Channel 4 Indie Growth Fund last year.

Feller will continue as an executive producer across select projects for Big Light Productions.

Prior to Big Light, she held positions at Red Production Company, ITV and Hat Trick Productions and has worked on dramas including BananaOrdinary LiesTrust Me and Holby City.

“We started the search for our chief creative officer over a year ago and we are delighted Emily is now joining the Warp family,” said Herbert and Carlton. “We needed someone with tenacity and huge ambition to deliver on our future plans within the Indie Growth Fund and Emily demonstrated this alongside her amazing creative flair and relationships.”

Warp was founded two decades ago and has been behind films such as Submarine, Four Lions and ’71, as well as TV series The Last Panthers, This Is England and Southcliffe.

Feller’s appointment comes soon after the arrival of BBC drama commissioner Siobhan Morgan as Warp Films’ new head of development, who is tasked with expanding the television drama slate for the UK and international markets and identifying new talent.
