Movistar+ strikes a chord with ‘That’s My Jam’ Spanish adaptation

That’s My Jam (US)

Spain’s Movistar+ has ordered a local version of NBCUniversal variety show format That’s My Jam.

This Spanish adaptation will be hosted by actor, comedian and presenter Arturo Valls, whose production company Polvora will co-produce the Spanish series with LACOproductora, in partnership with Universal Television Alternative Studios.

The order comes just days after RTL+, the streaming service of German pubcaster RTL commissioned an adaptation. The Movistar+ version will be the seventh international remake of the NBCUniversal Formats title.

The format was was originally spun-off from a musical segment on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon in which celebrities compete in music-themed challenges. After a 2021 debut on NBC in the US, where a second season will launch in March, the format has since expanded to the UK and France, while adaptations in Italy, Spain and Mongolia are also currently underway.

Ana Langenberg, SVP of format sales & production, NBCUniversal Formats, said: “We couldn’t be more thrilled with the continued success of That’s My Jam around the world. We are so glad that Spanish audiences will now get to experience the magic of this format; That’s My Jam is perfect family-viewing and we’re excited to work with Arturo, Movistar Plus+, LACOproductora and colleagues at UTAS to bring this latest adaptation to life.”
