Newen Studios’ Nimbus Films takes stake in ‘The Rain’ producer Tall and Small

The Rain

Newen Studios-backed Broen/Bron producer Nimbus Film has acquired a minority stake in Tall and Small, the fellow Danish production firm behind The Rain.

Copenhagen-based Tall and Small was founded in 2020 by author Jannik Tai Mosholt and producer Christian Potalivo, with the company going on to produce Netflix shows The Rain, Nisser, and Chosen. Mosholt and Potalivo will continue to own the majority of the capital in the business.

Nimbus Films, which was launched by CEO Birgitte Hald and producer Bo Ehrhardt in 1993, is best known as the producer of Danish and Swedish crime drama co-pro Broen/Bron, (aka The Bridge), which was adapted internationally in countries including the UK & France and the US & Mexico. Newen acquired a 33% stake in Nimbus in 2018.

Nimbus’ partnership with Tall and Small adds another company to the growing group of international companies in which TF1 Group-owned Newen Studios is involved, and which also includes Anagram, the Swedish/Norwegian production company behind SVT’s Thin Blue Line and The Machinery for Viaplay, which it acquired in October, and the Danish Real Lava ApS.
