Telekom/Magenta TV & NPO ink ‘Frannie Langton’ pre-sale deals

The Confessions Of Frannie Langton

Telekom/Magenta TV in Germany and Dutch public broadcaster NPO have struck pre-sale deals for upcoming ITVX period drama The Confessions Of Frannie Langton.

Produced by Drama Republic, the four-part series is set to premiere on the upcoming streamer ITVX in the UK this November, as one of the new platform’s launch titles.

These new pre-sales join the previously announced co-production deal with BritBox, which will cover territories in North America, Australia and South Africa, following deals with distributor All3Media International.

Adapted by author Sara Collins from her novel, the series follows 20-year-old former slave girl Frannie Langton, as she journeys from a Jamaican plantation to the grand mansion of George Benham and his beautiful wife, Madame Marguerite.

Soon after Frannie is gifted to Benham, she finds herself the prime suspect of a double murder. With no recollection of that night, Frannie must piece together the possible events and fight to tell her story.

Greg Brenman, co-CEO at Drama Republic, commented: “All3Media International’s goal to deliver the highest quality content to client perfectly aligns with our own production goals so we are thrilled to continue to work with this fantastic team.

“The Confessions Of Frannie Langton is an atmospheric and riveting thriller with huge universal resonance, and we are incredibly excited to watch it captivate audiences around the world.”
