Amazon & Canal+ among Mediapro sales

Amazon Prime Video and France’s Canal+ have picked up the second season of Movistar+ series Paraíso, following deals with The Mediapro Studio Distribution.

The acquisitions come after Canal+ debuted the first season last year, while Prime Video’s agreement for India will see both the first and second seasons become available to subscribers. The show has already sold to HBO Max in the US.

Other pick-ups from the Spanish distributor include Cosmote TV in Greece snagging The Age Of Anger and CBC in Canada taking the first season of Spanish-language thriller Express, which debuted on Lionsgate+.

Asacha joins Plano a Plano show

Asacha Media Group has joined as coproducer and distributor on action series Cicatriz, from Spain’s Plano a Plano and Dopamine in Mexico.

The series is based on Juan Gomez-Jurado’s eponymous novel about a lonely but successful entrepreneur who meets young woman looking for revenge. Pablo Roa and Fernando Sancristóbal write.

Tastemade starts streaming

Culinary producers Tastemade have launched a new streaming channel via Amazon Freevee, Tubi and Sling TV.

Tastemade Home will offer home and design content, with shows such as Beyond The Block and Weekend Refresh on the slate. The company already operates channels such as Tastemade Travel and Tastemade en Español, with 27 global shows set to air in 2022.
