Netflix picks up reboot of UK preschool classic ‘Teletubbies’

Teletubbies

Netflix has picked up a rebooted version of UK kids show, Teletubbies.

The pre-school series is being produced by Canada’s WildBrain (fka DHX Media), which bought rights to the IP when it acquired Ragdoll Worldwide in 2013 for $27.5m.

Netflix will debut the new show on 14 November, with Tinky Winky, Dipsy, Laa-Laa and Po returning to explore their colourful world. Tituss Burgess (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt) will narrate.

The programme originally debuted on the BBC 25 years ago, before being sold to PBS in the US – among numerous others worldwide. Following an initial four-year run, it was then rebooted for CBeebies and Nick Jr in the US from 2014 to 2018.
